Program Details

2023 continues to be a remarkably active (and contentious) local election year. Only two candidates are competing to serve as Whatcom County's directly-elected County Sheriff: Donnell "Tank" Tanksley and current sheriff Elfo's 2nd in command, Undersheriff Doug Chadwick. Both candidates have been invited.
Tansley is currently as Blaine's Chief of Police.. Chadwick has been with the county sheriff's office for 29 years, since 1994. How do the views of these two candidates differ? Whomever serves in this office is directly accountable to the public - elected by the people countywide, and the Sheriff's Office (and jail) are closely connected to the courts and the state justice system. The role of County Sheriff is crucial, so this promises to be a very interesting program.
As always, guests are welcome. The doors will open officially at 11:30 am.
